IPTV: what changed

The latest build is listed with bug fixes. IPTV is a player, not a source of channels: bring a playlist, then use its playback, channel-view and programme-guide options.

What changed

  1. 01Bug fixes and stability work

Bug fixes are the focus of this build’s notes. The app’s basic role is to play IPTV streams from an Internet service provider or another source, using a playlist you already have. If IPTV is part of your regular viewing, install the build and open your playlist to get back to your channels.

  2. 02Use playlists you already have

The app supports M3U and XSPF playlist formats and keeps a playlist history. Choose a playlist from an IPTV source you use, then browse its channels in the app. IPTV does not include built-in channels, so access depends on having a playlist with channels to watch. The Pro version includes extended playlist history.

  3. 03Browse channels with programme guides

IPTV offers grid, list and tile views for browsing channel entries, along with EPG support for XMLTV and JTV formats. The guide is useful when the playlist setup supplies compatible programme information. You can also choose between the app’s internal video player and an external player, depending on how you prefer to watch.

Should you update now?

Our callUpdate now

It is worth installing this build now: the notes list bug fixes, and IPTV gives you a practical way to play channels from your own M3U or XSPF playlist. You also get channel-view choices and support for compatible programme guides. The listed changes do not affect permissions, accounts or payments.

Worth knowing

IPTV needs a playlist with channels; it does not provide built-in channels. It supports M3U and XSPF playlists, and programme guides in XMLTV and JTV formats when compatible guide information is available. Multicast streams may need a UDP proxy installed on your local network. Installing an update from Google Play keeps your mail and data and settings.
