Start NowWhat changed this week
These are the three changes in Facebook that stand out in the developer's update notes and on its Google Play listing this week.
- 01The latest Facebook app build
Facebook has a fresh build on Google Play. Its everyday uses include catching up with friends, exploring interests, sharing posts, and finding communities around things you care about.
- 02Worth using: a more personal Feed
You can personalize your Feed to see more of what you like and less of what you do not, while choosing how closely to keep up with friends.
- 03Worth using: groups around your interests
Facebook groups let you learn tips from people with relevant experience. They offer a way to explore a hobby or interest alongside the app’s broader Feed and creator content.
Our call on whether to update, and the link to the official Google Play listing, are on this issue's Facebook page.

Tips
- Make Feed fit your interests
Use Feed personalization to see more of what you like and less of what you do not. Think about which friends, creators, and subjects you want to keep up with most closely. If you need help locating related controls, look in the app's Settings for Feed preferences.
- Find practical advice in groups
Explore Groups around a hobby or subject you want to understand better. Facebook describes them as places to learn tips from people with experience. Give yourself a clear starting point, such as a project or question, so you can focus on conversations that are useful rather than browsing without a purpose.
- Choose how you share moments
Use Stories to capture moments as they happen, or create Reels with trending templates and editing tools. Before sharing personal material, review how your profile presents you and who sees your posts. Facebook lets you customize both, making that a useful companion step to trying its creative features.
Menu names follow the developer's help pages and can differ slightly between versions and phones.
How we write the digest
Each week we check the Google Play listings of the apps our readers use most: the version number, the update date and the developer's What's new notes. When an app has a new version, we put the developer's update notes and the listing details together on one page, in plain words, with a link to the official Google Play listing. Google and most developers release updates in stages over several days, so a version listed here may not have reached your phone yet. GoCompareNow is an independent site and is not affiliated with any developer. This page doesn't read your phone or your Google account, and nothing is installed from here.
FAQ
Is this the official list of Facebook changes?
No. This is an independent site that is not affiliated with Meta Platforms, Inc. Facebook’s Google Play page is the authority for its official update information. This guide provides an editorial recommendation and practical suggestions for using Facebook, including its Feed, groups, Marketplace, and sharing tools.
Why does Google Play show Open instead of Update?
If Google Play shows Open, you can continue using the installed app. An Update button can appear at different times during a staged rollout, so another person may see it before you do. Check Facebook’s official Google Play page again later rather than looking elsewhere for an installation package.
What can I use Facebook’s creative tools for?
Facebook offers tools for creating reels with trending templates and editing features, capturing moments with stories, and using generative AI to create custom stickers and images. You can also customize your profile and who sees your posts. Some features may not be available in your country or region, so availability can differ.
