Tips
- Make a photo widget
Use the custom widget tool to place a favorite photo or album on your home screen. Try a size that fits the space you have, then adjust the font and color choices so the image sits naturally with the rest of your layout. The description lists small, medium, and large widget formats for customizing the home screen.
- Choose useful information
Consider which information you want to glance at without opening another app. The listed widget choices include calendar, battery level, digital clock, world clock, notes, and step and calorie counts. Pick options that suit your routine, then arrange them alongside decorative widgets to make the home screen both personal and useful.
- Refresh widgets when needed
If a widget is not refreshing, the app description recommends opening Widgets OS 18 and turning on Allow Apps to run in the background in its Settings. That setting is presented as a troubleshooting step for refreshing widgets. After changing it, give the home screen a moment and check whether the widget begins showing updated information.
Menu names follow the developer's help pages and can differ slightly between versions and phones.
How we write the digest
Each week we check the Google Play listings of the apps our readers use most: the version number, the update date and the developer's What's new notes. When an app has a new version, we put the developer's update notes and the listing details together on one page, in plain words, with a link to the official Google Play listing. Google and most developers release updates in stages over several days, so a version listed here may not have reached your phone yet. GoCompareNow is an independent site and is not affiliated with any developer. This page doesn't read your phone or your Google account, and nothing is installed from here.
FAQ
Is this the official list of Widgets OS 18 changes?
No. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with ZipoApps. The app’s Google Play page is the authority for its listing and current changes. Check that page for the developer’s latest description and release information before deciding whether to install the build.
Why does Google Play show Open instead of Update?
Google Play may show Open when the latest build is not currently offered to your account or device, including during a staged rollout. You can check the app’s Play page again later. If Update appears, you can install it there; if Open remains, you can keep using the installed app.
How can I fix a widget that is not refreshing?
The app description suggests opening Widgets OS 18, going to Settings, and turning on Allow Apps to run in the background if widgets are not refreshing. Once enabled, check the home screen again. If the problem persists, reopening the app is a cautious first step before checking your device’s general battery or background-app options.
