Start NowWhat changed this week
These are the three changes in eBoox: ePub PDF e-book Reader 2.64 that stand out in the developer's update notes and on its Google Play listing this week.
- 01Bug fixes for a steadier reader
The notes say this build fixes bugs. That maintenance is intended to help eBoox continue working as a book reader, without describing a particular screen or issue.
- 02Application optimization work
The update also optimizes the application, according to the notes. That broad maintenance accompanies the bug fixes and supports eBoox's role as a reader for many file types.
- 03A broad-format reader remains useful
Worth using: eBoox supports a wide range of book and document formats, so readers can open different kinds of files in one app.
Our call on whether to update, and the link to the official Google Play listing, are on this issue's eBoox: ePub PDF e-book Reader page.

Tips
- Adjust the reading experience
Explore the app's reading controls and settings to make a book more comfortable to read. The description specifically highlights settings for comfortable reading, so consider adjusting the options while a book is open and checking the result on a page with both ordinary text and longer paragraphs. The exact controls can vary, so use the labels shown in your app.
- Open books from different places
Use eBoox's file-opening options to find books in a phone folder, on an SD card, in cloud storage, or through a browser. Pick the source where your book is already kept, then open the file in the reader. If a source requires its own sign-in or internet access, follow that service's normal instructions.
- Browse the book directories
When you are looking for something to read, check the built-in online book directories described in the app listing. eBoox says it includes directories in different languages, which can help you browse beyond files already stored on your device. Directory availability and access may depend on an internet connection and the directory itself.
Menu names follow the developer's help pages and can differ slightly between versions and phones.
How we write the digest
Each week we check the Google Play listings of the apps our readers use most: the version number, the update date and the developer's What's new notes. When an app has a new version, we put the developer's update notes and the listing details together on one page, in plain words, with a link to the official Google Play listing. Google and most developers release updates in stages over several days, so a version listed here may not have reached your phone yet. GoCompareNow is an independent site and is not affiliated with any developer. This page doesn't read your phone or your Google account, and nothing is installed from here.
FAQ
Is this the official list of eBoox changes?
No. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with ReadingApp. Google Play's eBoox page is the authority for the official app listing and its current release information. Check that page if you need to confirm the published notes or whether this build is offered for your device.
Why does Google Play show Open instead of Update?
Google Play may show Open when the latest build is not yet offered to your account or device, including during a staged rollout. You can check the app's Play page again later. If it already shows Open, that button launches the installed app; it does not mean you need to reinstall it.
What kinds of files can eBoox read?
The app description lists ebook and document formats such as EPUB, PDF, DOC, DOCX, MOBI, FB2, TXT, RTF, ODT, and HTML. It also lists comic archives CBR and CBZ and ZIP and RAR files. If a file will not open, check that it is one of the listed types and accessible from the chosen source.
